BIO:
Having studied art in Philadelphia, I proceeded to live and show work in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City.  In 2005, I took part in a group show in MicroCOSM for all the artists who contributed to the creation of Alex Grey's COSM gallery, the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors.  Most recently, in March, I have been in a group show at Art Gotham.  Also, I am very pleased to be a member of The Society for Art of Imagination, along with so many talented and inspired artists from around the world, including Mr. Grey and H. R. Giger.  (Please see:  JWZEH.com, COSM.org, and Artofimagination.org)  I now reside and create in Brooklyn, NY.

Finding inspiration from Leonardo DaVinci, Robert Crumb, H.R. Giger, Alex Grey, Max Ernst, Joe Coleman and others, I use anything I get my hands on to be a vessel representing the pain, sexuality, brutality and beauty of human beings- the most wonderful and terrible thing to be.  Most of my inspiration, however, comes from nature Herself and the torrent of Life that twists its Beauty, Horror and Mystery around us every second of every day.  Much of my work features a sort of "nature in the raw", expressing emotion, abstract truth and outrage with representations of our naked existence.

For some of my creative process, I have adapted a layered method similar to what Max Ernst termed "frottage", which can involve interpreting new imagery from found or created patterns and textures. Frequently, and for the last decade, I perceive these images in maps, allowing the topography to add layers of meaning for the viewer.  More recently, I have begun to infuse these pieces with collage including my own photos of nature.  I also spend time working with musicians in designing outlandish and eye-grabbing images promoting their records and events, often in a comic style.

INTENTION:
To use all my resources and gifts for being an Artist causing Transformation with full self-expression, compassion, and no apologies. People need to transform their ways of being, and that starts with me.
